What UK Learners Say After Their Assessor Decides

Every review below was left after an assessor had actually made a decision — not after delivery. That matters, because the only outcome worth reporting is whether the evidence was accepted. Filter by your own qualification, sector or level and read the ones that apply to you.

How We Collect and Publish These Reviews

Review pages are easy to fake and most people reading one know it. Here is exactly how ours are gathered, so you can judge them properly.

📅

Asked after the decision, not after delivery

We do not ask when the work lands in your inbox. We ask once your assessor has said yes or no, because that is the only thing worth reporting.

✍️

Written by the learner, published as sent

Nothing is ghostwritten and nothing is tidied up. Spelling stays, phrasing stays, and the occasional four-star stays too.

🕵️

Initials and town only

Full names, employers, centres and qualification numbers never appear. Several reviewers work for regulated services and would not leave one otherwise.

🚫

Nothing incentivised

No discounts, no prize draws, no free revisions in exchange for a review. If somebody does not want to leave one, that is the end of it.

L5 Adult Care

Registered manager myself and I was still writing like a senior carer eighteen months in. One conversation with someone who holds the same registration and it finally landed.

J.R. Warrington
✅ Three units closed
★★★★★
Resubmission, L2 Care

Slower to reply over a bank holiday weekend than I expected, but they were upfront about it and the resubmission was accepted.

B.F. Swansea
✅ Accepted
★★★★★
Authenticity query, L4

Authenticity flag on work I had genuinely written myself. That was frightening. They helped me put together the response rather than just selling me a rewrite.

C.A. Preston
✅ Cleared, no rewrite needed
★★★★★
Urgent, L3 Early Years

Assessor visit on the Friday, I contacted them on the Tuesday. They said one account was doable and a whole unit was not. Straight answer, and the account passed.

P.D. Luton
✅ Account accepted
★★★★★
Resubmission, L3 Care

IQA reversed three units my assessor had already signed. I did not know that could even happen. They explained it and rebuilt only what was named.

M.R. Coventry
✅ Three units re-accepted
★★★★★
Resubmission, L3 TA

Portfolio rejected six weeks before my registration ran out. They triaged it free and told me two of the five units were an appeal, not a rewrite. I appealed and won both.

G.T. Nottingham
✅ Appeal upheld
★★★★★
Reflective account, L2

Asked for a sample before ordering and they sent it without pushing me to buy anything. Ordered a week later because of that.

J.P. Truro
✅ Ordered later, accepted
★★★★★
Portfolio evidence, L3

Portfolio was 41 uploads and no commentary. I thought volume was the point. It is not.

A.M. Sunderland
✅ Three units closed
★★★★★
Reflective account, L3

Reflective accounts were the thing I could not crack. Gibbs, Kolb, none of it made sense until someone tied it to an actual shift of mine.

S.J. Norwich
✅ Accepted
★★★★★
Observation prep, L3

My observation visits kept closing two or three criteria at a time. They planned which task to be doing and the next one closed eleven.

D.H. Plymouth
✅ Eleven criteria in one visit
★★★★★
Knowledge questions, L3

52 questions, nine answered, two weeks to go. They did the workbook properly and sent a similarity report with it, which I had not even asked for.

E.C. Derby
✅ Whole workbook accepted
★★★★★
EPA professional discussion

The professional discussion terrified me. They built a list of my own examples rather than a script, and I was not caught out once.

V.T. Aberdeen

Nine weeks, and the CITB grant I never knew about

D.W. · Warrington · RQF Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision

I had laid bricks for eleven years and been running a gang of six for two of them. Registered on Level 3 supervision because the contractor wanted a Gold card on the framework. Four months in, three units kept coming back and I was ready to jack it in. Everything I wrote was about blockwork — gauge, perps, cavity trays. All correct, apparently all Level 2. The bloke who called me had held the same qualification. He asked about my week instead of my wall. The morning I pulled two lads off a scaffold that had been altered overnight. The re-sequence when the mortar delivery failed. The toolbox talk after a near miss with a telehandler. All three units closed at the next visit and the qualification came through nine weeks later. My employer claimed a CITB grant I did not know existed.

They told me not to buy the thing I was trying to buy

G.T. · Nottingham · Resubmission, Level 3 Teaching Assistant

My portfolio was rejected six weeks before my registration ran out and I was in a genuine panic. Five units gone. I contacted them ready to pay for all five to be rewritten because I could not see another option. They did a free triage first and came back saying two of the five were not a rewrite at all — they were an appeal, because the criteria had been applied wrongly by a new assessor. They told me the appeal route and the deadline and said they would not charge me for those two. I appealed and won both. They wrote the other three. I have recommended them to four people since, mostly because of the two they turned down.

✅ Appeal upheld, three units rewritten

Fourteen years of evidence in a bookbag

H.K. · Taunton · RQF Level 3 Early Years Workforce

I have childminded from my own front room for fourteen years. When I registered on Level 3 my tutor kept asking for witness testimony and observation records and I had neither, because the only other adult in the building most days is the postman. I thought I would have to give up. The writer had childminded herself for over a decade. She went through what I already produced without thinking of it as evidence — daily diaries going to six sets of parents, the risk assessments I redid after a toddler learned the stair gate, the two-year check I took to a health visitor appointment. Nine accounts came out of it, all anonymised. The single observation visit my assessor could realistically make closed eleven criteria because we planned it around messy play with two age groups instead of the story time I was going to offer.

The Unflattering Part

What the Four-Star Reviews Say — and What We Do About It

Nobody has a perfect record. Here is what goes wrong most often, what happens next, and why we have left the less glowing reviews on the page.

😕

What the four-star reviews say

A small number of reviews on this page are four stars, and most are about timing rather than quality — a bank holiday, an Easter break, a reply slower than promised. We have left them up because a page of nothing but fives tells you nothing.

♻️

What happens if your assessor pushes back

Anything we were briefed to cover that comes back gets rewritten with no second invoice. No minimum spend, no time limit inside your registration, and no argument about whether it counts.

🚫

When we say no

We turn work down every week — deadlines that cannot be met properly, units that need an appeal rather than a rewrite, and learners who are registered on the wrong level. Several reviews above are from people we talked out of ordering.

📣

If you are unhappy

Say so directly and it gets looked at by somebody who was not involved in writing it. We would rather fix it than have it sit on a review page, and that is the only honest reason for saying it.

Questions About These Reviews

Are these reviews real?+

Yes. Every one is submitted by a learner after their assessor made a decision, and nothing is ghostwritten or invented. We publish initials and town only, never full names, employers or centres.

Why are there no five-star-only reviews?+

A page of nothing but fives tells you nothing. We publish four- and three-star reviews too, unedited, alongside what we did about them.

Can I filter reviews by my own qualification?+

Yes — use the filter buttons above the grid to narrow it down to your sector or level before reading.

What happens if my assessor pushes back after this?+

Anything we were briefed to cover that comes back gets rewritten with no second invoice, no minimum spend and no argument about whether it counts.

I am unhappy with my order — what do I do?+

Say so directly and it gets looked at by somebody who was not involved in writing it. We would rather fix it than have it sit on a review page.
