Meet the NVQ Experts Who
Have Actually Done Your Job
Nobody on this page is a professional essay writer. They are registered managers, works supervisors, room leaders, quality assurers and site managers who hold the qualification you are working towards — and 33 of them hold an assessor or internal quality assurance award, which means they have sat on the other side of the table and marked portfolios like yours.
How We Verify Every NVQ Expert — Five Checks
Anyone can put a photo and a job title on a website. These are the five things an applicant has to get past before they touch a learner's portfolio, and roughly one applicant in nine gets through all of them.
Qualification certificate, seen before day one
We ask for the certificate, not the claim. Anyone writing at RQF Level 5 holds a Level 5 or above in that occupation, and the same applies at every level from 2 to 7.
Rejected if: the certificate is for a different sector, or a different level from the one applied for.
Three years minimum in the actual job
Care experience means shifts, not a care-adjacent role. Site experience means site. We check employment history and, where the role is senior, ask who held the registration.
Rejected if: the experience is training-only, or ended more than five years ago.
Enhanced DBS for anyone touching care or childcare
Nobody on the panel meets a learner or a service user. We still run enhanced checks on care, early years and children's residential writers, because those learners send us details about vulnerable people.
Rejected if: no valid enhanced certificate, or an unexplained gap.
A blind test piece, marked against real criteria
Applicants write an account from a scenario and it is marked by one of our own assessor-qualified staff against genuine assessment criteria. Most applications end here.
Rejected if: the piece is fluent but does not evidence the criteria. This is the commonest failure.
Supervised first orders, then ongoing sampling
First three orders are checked line by line before delivery. After that we sample in the same way an internal quality assurer samples an assessor — risk-rated, not randomly.
Rejected if: acceptance rate drops, or a learner reports something we can substantiate.

MA Ed, EQA experience, TAQA
“Learners have a right of appeal and roughly nobody uses it. Sometimes the decision genuinely was wrong.”
EYE Level 3, ESOL trained
“If you can tell me about your shift, you can pass. Writing it down is a separate skill and it is teachable.”
L6 Contracting Operations Management
“Every surveyor has a variation story. Almost none of them write down the option they priced and rejected.”
L4 Business Admin, A1 Assessor
“One complaint you resolved properly can close criteria in three different units. Most people write it once and move on.”
L4 Business Admin, CSBM trained
“A school office is the busiest room in the building. The evidence is everywhere — it is just never written down.”
L5 Residential Childcare, DSL
“Placement stability is the number that matters in my sector and almost nobody puts it in their portfolio.”
EYE Level 3, Assessor award, DSL
“Everyone panics about being recorded. Nobody panics about naming a child on that recording, and they should.”
CMI Level 7, EPA registered
“Team Leader and Operations Manager are different standards. Learners find that out far too late, usually at gateway.”
L6 Management, CMgr FCMI
“Degree level does not mean it should read like a dissertation. It means the reasoning has to hold up.”
Level 5 Adult Care, A1 Assessor, IQA
“I have driven ninety minutes to watch someone make a cup of tea. Plan the hour and you close ten criteria instead of two.”
L6 NVQ, SMSTS, ProQual assessor
“Most rejected site portfolios are not short of evidence. They are short of a page saying where it all lands.”
Not sure who fits your unit?
Tell us your qualification and sector and we will name the expert who would take it — what they hold, and what they do for a living.
Ask Who Would Write Mine →The Credentials We Check — and Why They Matter to You
Every badge on a profile above is a document we have seen. Here is what each one actually is, and why it changes the quality of the evidence you get back.
| Credential | What it actually is | Why it matters to your portfolio | How many |
|---|---|---|---|
| A1 / TAQA Assessor award | Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment | They have assessed real portfolios and made accept-or-return decisions themselves. | 33 on the panel |
| IQA award | Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance | They have sampled other assessors' judgements and know what a quality assurer looks for. | 11 on the panel |
| Enhanced DBS | Disclosure and Barring Service, enhanced level | Required for anyone handling care, early years or children's residential material. | 25 on the panel |
| Registered manager experience | CQC or Ofsted registration held personally | They have carried the legal responsibility, not just worked under someone who did. | 9 on the panel |
| Chartered or professional membership | MCIOB, CMIOSH, CMgr MCMI, RMN, CIPD | Independent professional bodies that check practice as well as qualifications. | 14 on the panel |
| Sector cards and tickets | CSCS Gold and Black, SMSTS, SSSTS, Paediatric First Aid | Evidence of current site or setting competence rather than historical training. | 19 on the panel |
Ask Who Would Be Writing Yours
Tell us your qualification and your sector and we will tell you which expert would be assigned, what they hold and what they do for a living — before you commit to anything.
How Your Evidence Is Checked Before It Reaches You
An expert writing alone is one opinion. Everything that leaves here has been through a second assessor-qualified reader who did not write it — the same way an internal quality assurer samples an assessor.
Written by your matched expert
One practitioner from your own sector, holding the qualification at or above your level.
Criteria grid built alongside
Each outcome allocated to a specific part of the evidence before drafting finishes, not afterwards.
Identities removed during drafting
Service users, children, colleagues, clients and employers reduced to roles and initials as it is written.
Second assessor reads it cold
Somebody assessor-qualified who did not write it checks coverage against the criteria, exactly as an IQA would sample.
Delivered with the mapping attached
You get the evidence, the criteria grid and a note on anything we think your assessor will still want.
What We Do Not Claim About Our Experts
Most "meet the team" pages only tell you the flattering half. These are the four things we deliberately do not say, and the two things you can hold us to.
We do not call them academics
Nobody here is a professor and we do not pretend otherwise. An NVQ is a competence qualification judged by a workplace assessor, and a PhD would be no help at all in evidencing a medication round.
We do not publish full names or photographs
Our experts are working practitioners — registered managers, site managers, room leaders. Being publicly named alongside a portfolio support service would put several of their jobs at risk for no benefit to you.
We do not claim they work exclusively for us
Most do this alongside the job that qualifies them to do it. That is the point: an expert who left the sector five years ago would be writing from memory.
We do not promise a specific person
You are matched by sector, level and availability. If somebody has already written for you and is free, you get them again — but we will not hold a portfolio hostage to one diary.
We will tell you who is writing yours
Ask before you order and we will tell you which expert is assigned, what they hold and what they do for a living. Several learners choose that way and it is a reasonable thing to want.
We will move you if the fit is wrong
If the first piece reads like somebody who has not done your job, say so. You get reassigned and rewritten at no cost — no argument about whether you are being fair.

Questions About Our NVQ Experts
Are your NVQ experts real people?+
Yes. Every profile on this page belongs to a working UK practitioner, and each one appears on the service page they write for as well — the same names, the same qualifications. What we do not publish is full names, photographs or employers, because most of them are still working in the sector and being publicly listed alongside a portfolio support service would put jobs at risk for no benefit to you.
Can I choose a specific expert?+
You can request one, and if they are free you will get them. What we will not do is hold your portfolio up for weeks waiting on one person's diary. Learners who have ordered before are matched back to the same writer wherever availability allows.
Do your experts hold assessor qualifications?+
A good share of the panel does, holding either the A1 or TAQA assessor award or the Level 4 internal quality assurance award — the exact count is shown above the grid. That matters more than it sounds: they have personally made accept-or-return decisions on portfolios, so they know what a returned unit looks like before it is returned.
Are they DBS checked?+
Anyone working on care, early years or children's residential material holds an enhanced DBS certificate. None of them ever meets a learner or a service user, but learners in those sectors send us information about vulnerable people and the check is the right thing to do regardless.
Who checks the work before I get it?+
A second person who is assessor-qualified and did not write it. They read it cold against the criteria in the same way an internal quality assurer samples an assessor's decisions. Nothing leaves here on one person's judgement alone.
Will an expert write about a job they have not done?+
No. If we do not have somebody in your occupation we say so rather than putting a care writer on a groundworks unit. Turning the work down is better than delivering something an assessor will not recognise.
